Voyage

Infused with sea-swept hues and echoes of distant shores, Voyage captures the essence of a journey — both outward and inward. A fishing boat anchors the composition, emerging through sweeping layers of turquoise, aqua and deep indigo that evoke shifting tides, changing skies and the movement of water.

The artwork began as a richly layered collage of handmade and specialty papers, including gel prints and dissolved National Geographic pages. A final, bold layer of fluid acrylic paint transformed the piece, flowing across the existing collage while allowing fragments of the original imagery and texture to remain visible beneath.

Warm metallics glint through the cool blues, while areas of paper, pattern and imagery appear and disappear beneath the painted surface. The result is a work that feels both discovered and transformed — a visual meditation on movement, memory and the unexpected places a creative journey can lead.
