Class 4: Exploring Texture For Dynamic Collage (Day 22 - 28)
Watch the Class Introduction
Welcome back to the studio!
Texture is one of the foundational elements of mixed media art. It can be smooth and subtle or richly layered and tactile, inviting you to look closer and discover something new every time you return to the page.
In this class, we'll explore a variety of ways to build texture using papers, paint, mark making and collage. Across seven inspiring projects, you'll experiment with different materials and techniques while discovering how texture can add depth, interest and atmosphere to your artwork.
As always, I'll share the techniques and materials I use, encouraging you to experiment, adapt the ideas and discover the combinations that inspire you most.
Let's keep creating together.

Your Creative Journey
Studio Reflection
Texture invites us to slow down.
A beautifully textured surface isn't created all at once. It grows through layers of colour, marks, papers and unexpected discoveries, each one adding depth and character to the story.
The same is true of creativity. Every layer you add — whether to your artwork or your artistic journey — becomes part of something richer than you could have imagined when you first began.
