Last year was rather traumatic for me, I went through a very difficult and painful season and I just wanted to crawl under my bed and stay there. But then a friend contacted me and asked about commissioning a painting. She didn’t know I had given up on life, but her request was so genuine and thoughtful that I crawled out from under my bed. She wanted a gift for a friend who had helped her through a difficult season. So I decided to take on the commission.
I created the painting from my personal colours of hope. Colours that would inspire me and restore my love for life again. The painting turned out beautiful, so I painted another one! This one is called ‘Finding Faith’, because I had to find the faith that life was going to be good.
This process brought healing to my hurting soul, through the beautiful colour and the glory of the painting. This healing inspired my spirit which allowed hope once again to fill my heart and mind.
Multiple layers of acrylic paint and iridescent inks on linen.
This painting has been created on a professionally stretched linen canvas. With the sides painted, the back taped and strung, this work of art is ready to hang. It has been finished with a high gloss varnish and measures 61 x 61cm (24”x 24”).
