‘It’s still raining outside, but just a moment ago a band started playing some jazz… right here in the middle of the shopping centre … no good rhyme or reason, just a random act of grace… and in that moment things just got a little more colourful’

The Right Key

The Right Key
mixed media collage

I have been contemplating, what is the key to breakthrough?

There must be faith, because it is impossible to please God without it. We must believe He is, that breakthrough is coming (He is a rewarder of those who seek Him, Heb 11:6), hope fuels our faith. Sometimes it is just a matter of time, waiting. Definitely love, His love towards us is for our good not for evil (Jer 29:11), He will look after it all. Laughter because it is important how well we wait (Ps 59:8,9); perseverance, sometimes the breakthrough takes longer than we hope for and thankfulness. Always thankful for all that He has done and is yet to do.

Deep Waters

Deep Waters

acrylic on linen
61 x 61cm

This week has been difficult; and then I found Psalm 42:5-8
‘Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. I will remember how he has helped me in the past.
Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; and I choose to believe God is good regardless of the circumstance.
The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me – a prayer to the God of my life’.
And I will love you forever more.

‘But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God”. My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
Make Your face shine upon Your servant’ (Psalm 31:14-16)

The Current

The Current
acrylic on canvas
30 x 30cm

Inspired by an experience in the healing rooms at Bethel Church. I went along early one saturday morning and the ministry team were circling the room praying. Stepping into the circle to join the team was like stepping into a current of the Holy Spirit. They were stoking the fire!, stirring up their faith, joy, praise & worship, ready to release the kingdom of love, the kingdom of healing. It was a privilege to experience such a moment.

‘The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor, He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound’ (Isaiah 61:1)

Jesus said,”If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink” (John 7:37)
The living water of Christ is ALWAYS flowing, an endless stream bringing refreshing and redemption.

In The Father’s Heart

In The Father’s Heart
61 x 61cm
acrylic on canvas

I painted this in the healing rooms at Bethel Church, 25th June 2011.

The Father holds us deep in His heart; and I asked Him, ‘How do you feel when you think of me?’, and His heart lit up! Like boom! Way past neon! and vibrates at the thought of me!

His heart toward me is wild, with no restrictions, no reservations, no limits – it’s full of joy, freedom & love (Romans 8:38,39).

This is also how He responds when He thinks of you – boom!
I pray my painting will release for you an encounter with the Father’s heart.
